Which Has Better Content: Amazon or Netflix?
Those lists you see every month about the content coming to Netflix or to Amazon generate the same kind of comment, no matter how much the content changes: "These movies suck. I'm canceling my subscription."
The Why Axis BugBut Streaming Observer is here to provide some context. Using Rotten Tomatoes' Certified Fresh rating as a guide, it found that although Amazon has over four and a half times more video in its library than Netflix, Netflix has the best-reviewed shows and movies on its service—596 to Amazon's 232. Percentage-wise, that works out to a very large discrepancy, with 15.5 percent of what's on Netflix getting a good rating versus 1.3 percent of what's on Amazon.
Of course, beauty is in the eye of the account holder.
